Hello, Reader. True story... We have a rotating system for who empties the dishwasher. Sounds great in theory. And it works...until someone works a late shift, or sleeps in, or cooks at midnight and piles their dishes in the sink on top of the breakfast dishes that are already in there because the dishwasher is still full of clean things from the night before. By the time I walked into the kitchen to start dinner, my farmhouse sink was full. Top to bottom. No room for anything. I couldn't drain pasta. Couldn't rinse vegetables. Couldn't even run water without navigating around a pile of dishes stacked every which way by people who have never in their lives had to hand wash a dish and therefore have no idea that stacking actually matters. I wanted to turn around and order pizza. And I TEACH this stuff. Point is: it wasn't really about the dishes. It was about a system that works fine in theory but falls apart the moment real life happens. And real life happens every single day. A backlog in one spot breaks the whole kitchen. The sink never backs up because of one dish. It backs up because some things don't have a clear enough home to keep the flow moving without someone actively managing it. That's exactly what the Home RESET Club is built around...not perfect systems. Systems that hold up when life doesn't cooperate. If your kitchen (or any room) feels like it's one busy day away from chaos, you'd fit right in. Join us for $27/month right here.β xo, Shannon |
